Prof. dr Špiro Ivošević je rođen 19. 05. 1971. godine u Kotoru. Diplomirao je na Mašinskom Fakultetu u Podgorici 1994. godine na smjeru Mehanizacija i usmjerenju Transportni sistemi. Postdiplomske studije upisuje na Mašinskom fakultetu u Podgorici gdje je stekao diplomu Magistara 2004. godine. Doktorsku disertaciju pod nazivom „Analiza strukturne degradacije brodskog trupa“ je odbranio 2012. godine na Pomorskom Fakultetu UCG.
