The training focused on technical measures to improve the energy efficiency of ships, renewable energy production and the use of alternative marine fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, biofuels, and LNG, as well as new types of marine propulsion systems, such as fuel cells.

The training, which took place on October 1st and 2nd, 2024, was led by Professor Nikolaos Ventikos and his colleagues from the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens.

Participants visited the test center equipped with test benches and dynamometers for testing various types of marine engines. They were introduced to different types of testing procedures that can be conducted using alternative marine fuels and exhaust gas after-treatment devices.

The next training on the topic of energy efficiency and decarbonization in maritime logistics, as part of the ZeroC project, is scheduled for early December 2024 at the Technical University of Hamburg.

Following the training, a regular project management meeting was held on October 3rd and 4th.

Representing the University of Montenegro/Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor at the training and management meeting were Assistant Professor Dr. Miroslav Vukićević, Dr. Sead Cvrk, MSc Radmila Gagić, and Professor Dr. Danilo Nikolić.
