At the 4th Kotor International Maritime Conference, held from 27 to 29 November 2024, the activities within the national scientific research project “Decarbonisation in the Maritime Sector for a Green Boka Bay – DeMS-GBB” were presented within Session A.4 | Energy Efficiency in the Maritime Sector.

A presentation on the projects current results and upcoming activities was delivered by Prof. Dr Maja Krčum from the Faculty of Maritime Studies, University of Split, who also serves as the leader of Work Package 2 (WP2): Design of Green Systems for Vessels. The objective of WP2 is to develop sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for vessels, taking into account seasonality and operational sailing profiles. This work package includes the analysis of vessel microgrids and the use of advanced simulation models to optimise performance and identify the best configurations.

Professors and experts from both Montenegro and abroad, including Prof. Dr Tatijana Dlabač, the project leader, and other project team members attended the presentation, further highlighting the valuable networking opportunities enabled by this project.

As a direct result of the project’s promotion and international cooperation, Prof. Dr Tatijana Dlabač and Prof. Dr Maja Krčum have been appointed as subgroup leaders within COST Action CA23159 – Decarbonising Waterborne Transportation (DeWaTra). This recognition underscores the quality and impact of the work carried out within the DeMS-GBB project.
