Dr Luka Martinović Awarded as Most Successful Young Scientist for 2024

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation has awarded the annual prizes for scientific achievements in 2024, and among the laureates is Dr. Luka Martinović, a teaching associate at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, who received the award for the most successful young scientist under the age of 30.

This prestigious award recognizes his significant contributions in the field of automation and robotics, as well as his dedication to science. Martinović graduated in 2019 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Montenegro, specializing in Energy and Automation. He obtained his masters degree in 2021 and, in 2024, at the age of only 27, defended his doctoral dissertation, making him one of the youngest PhD holders in Montenegro.

Since November 2019, he has been employed as a teaching associate at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where he conducts computational and laboratory exercises in the field of automation and robotics. His scientific work includes five papers published in prestigious international journals and twelve papers presented at regional conferences.

In 2023, he spent two months at the Institute for Marine Engineering of the National Research Council of Italy in Genoa, while in 2024, he conducted theoretical and experimental research in marine robotics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb.

Dr. Martinović is also actively involved in numerous international research projects funded through the Horizon Europe and EUREKA programs and is a member of IEEE – the International Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

The recognition from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation serves as a significant encouragement for further research and innovation in the field of automation and robotics.
