Round table: Challenges and Solutions in Integrating Renewable Energy Sources into Distribution and Transmission Networks

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University of Montenegro, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in collaboration with SIEMENS and the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro, is organizing a round table: Challenges and Solutions in Integrating Renewable Energy Sources into Distribution and Transmission Networks. The round table will be held on May 14, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, in Podgorica (in the Ceremonial Hall on the second floor).

The round table will be opened by the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at UCG, Prof. Dr. Budimir Lutovac.

Renewable energy sources (RES) are the main drivers and carriers of the energy transition towards carbon-neutral energy and economy. As such, we are witnessing an increase in new RES capacities worldwide. In the future, even greater growth in RES capacities is expected. Alongside all the positive aspects for the planet, it is crucial to discuss the challenges that exist for the distribution and transmission network, as well as the solutions that are already available today.

The round table will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with Siemens complete portfolio for managing solar power plants, electric storage facilities, and microgrids based on the A8000 platform. It will also allow attendees to hear from experts in the field from Germany and Austria, who will be available for questions and consultations. Presentations by foreign speakers will be conducted in English.

The event is open to the media, and the program of the round table is as follows:
