FSW Laboratory (Friction Stir Welding)

FSW (Friction Stir Welding) Laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Podgorica was established in 2007. Its main activities are welding of similar and dissimilar materials by non-conventional process of FSW. FSW was developed with the goal to overcome problems that occur during welding where melting of the material occurs. A large advantage of FSW is avoidance of the liquid phase cooling so that porosity, redistribution of the solution, cracking by solidification and cracking by melting are not present in this process.
