At the Faculty of Fine Arts (FLU) of the University of Montenegro, this year as well, there will be around 40 places available for talented students for the study programs of Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Design, and Conservation and Restoration, for enrollment in undergraduate studies in the 2024/25 academic year. In the year when the University of Montenegro celebrates its 50th anniversary under the slogan FuturUM, FLU symbolizes the fusion of historical heritage and modern artistic expression.

Founded in 1988, it represents the culmination of the evolution of art education in Montenegro, whose historical roots date back to the secondary art school. Formed in Cetinje shortly after World War II, this school employed renowned artists such as Petar Lubarda and Milo Milunović as teachers. Continuity in art education has laid the foundations for todays FLU over the decades.

Today, the faculty is located in the new building of the University complex, which has further improved the working conditions of FLU, offering students spacious and modernly equipped studios and classrooms.

In terms of admitting new students, FLU opens its doors to candidates from various high schools, with a mandatory entrance exam whose conditions are detailed on the facultys official page and in the electronic Student Guide, available on the official website of the University of Montenegro. Through the preparation process for the entrance exam, the teaching staff provides consultations and support to candidates in creating their portfolios.

The career prospects of FLU graduates are broad and varied, including an independent artistic career, engagement in cultural institutions, or work in the dynamic field of design. Graduates of conservation and restoration are particularly sought after due to the growing need for specialists in the preservation of cultural heritage.

FLU also stands out for its active international cooperation, allowing students to participate in the exchange of knowledge and experiences with European art academies.

The Center for Artistic Research, which operates within the faculty, with its galleries enables students to exhibit their work and interact with the works of artists from around the world.

Through teaching and extracurricular activities, there is intensive cooperation with faculties in the region. One of them is the FLUID design forum, which represents the most significant regional design event.

More information about enrollment is available on the Studentski informator.
