After completing the course, the student will be able to: - Defines basic concepts from systematics, taxonomy and phylogeny - Understands the phylogenetic relationships of Chordata, especially Vertebrata - Describes the structure and systematics of Cephalochordata, Tunicata, and especially Vertebrata - Uses a significant number of Latin names of representatives of all classes of vertebrates - Use keys to determine representatives of individual classes of vertebrates - Independently recognizes representatives of vertebrates in the field - Uses basic knowledge of vertebrate systematics
