Call for students and young professionals: Cyber Challenge Lab Program

Students and young professionals interested in the field of cybersecurity are invited to apply for participation in the Cyber Challenge Lab—an initiative that encourages a creative and investigative approach to cyber and information security.

The Cyber Challenge Lab is a program organized in collaboration with the University of Montenegro and cybersecurity companies, under the auspices of the Ulysseus Innovation Hub for Cybersecurity and the NGO Women4Cyber.

In this program, students will be divided into teams and work on project tasks related to technical, legal, or economic issues in information and cybersecurity. Each student team will be assigned mentors from the University of Montenegro and industry experts who will assist in defining the problems and guide their creative work towards solutions. The culmination and presentation of solutions will take place in October 2024, where the best teams will be awarded.

Students will have the opportunity to co-create project topics with their mentors, based on broadly proposed themes by the mentors. A workshop will be organized on June 19, where the potential topics will be presented by the mentoring teams. During this workshop, participants will be able to select the topics that interest them and start discussions with mentors about choosing the problems they will work on. The next steps in the realization of the Cyber Challenge Lab will also be presented.

The mentors for this activity will be professors and experts from the University of Montenegro, and companies such as Un1quely, Sky-express, Čikom, and the Montenegro CIRT. The activity is realized in partnership with the University of Montenegro and the NGO Women4Cyber.

Applications are open to current students of all levels from the University of Montenegro, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Faculty of Law, or the Faculty of Economics, as well as young people planning to enroll in a masters program in information security (a brochure of the masters program is attached), which will start at the University of Montenegro in the fall of this year.
