The Faculty of Biotechnology is the right address for all those who want to engage in agriculture and food production, i.e. the cultivation of plants, animals and food technologies, and want to become engineers, masters or doctors of agricultural sciences.

The production of food in sufficient quantities, which is safe for the consumer, and impeccable in terms of quality, is one of the greatest challenges of modern society and agriculture. The Biotechnical Faculty offers study programs that provide the possibility of educating experts who will be able to respond to all the challenges of modern agriculture. All our study programs are, in their concept, compatible with most European educational systems.

In addition to teaching and educational activities, the Biotechnical Faculty has a very well-developed scientific research and professional-advisory activity, with a tradition of more than eight decades. Therefore, the Biotechnical Faculty has been, and still is, the backbone of the development of Montenegrin agriculture for decades.

A very important scientific and teaching base of the Biotechnical Faculty are numerous laboratories and experimental properties in Podgorica and Bar. On the experimental estate "Lješkopolje" in Podgorica, on an area of about 35 ha, there are vineyards, orchards, greenhouses, as well as a wine cellar, which is the oldest in Montenegro. The wine cellar produces grape brandy and various wines, which have long been recognized on the market as "Institutes" vines and wines. Wines from almost all vintages in the last fifteen years have won at prestigious fairs of gold medals and trophies. In addition, students are trained to produce, so-called "student wines", and thus go through all stages of production (from the field to the table). On the experimental estate there is one of the most numerous collections of domestic, domesticated and introduced grape varieties in the Balkans, which has 442 genotypes of vines, and on the experimental estate in Bar there are collection plantations and nurseries of subtropical fruit crops.

The faculty provides numerous laboratory services for a wide range of users, such as seed certification, control and supervision of registered nurseries, wine quality analysis, quality control of milk and dairy products, quality control and olive oil panel, as well as all analyzes in plant health .

Classes are organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Declaration according to the model 3 + 2 + 3 for academic and 3 + 2 for applied studies.
