Scientific associate Dr. Blagojević participated in an international conference in Zagreb

Scientific Associate at the Historical Institute of the University of Montenegro, Dr. Jelisaveta Blagojević, participated in the international scientific conference Jean Monnet Conference 2024: Building Sustainable EU Society for the Future, held in Zagreb at the House of Europe from December 12-13, 2024. The conference gathered 170 participants from 15 countries, featuring 49 scientific and expert papers, three panels with nine distinguished panelists, and two keynote speakers.

Dr. Blagojević presented the results of a paper prepared in collaboration with the Scientific Advisor and Director of the Historical Institute, Dr. Radenko Šćekić, titled: Montenegro: Regional Inequalities and Population Drain. Since Dr. Blagojevićs primary research focus is migration within Montenegro, she participated in the creation and presentation of the paper, which examines the relationship between internal migration and regional disparities in Montenegro. The originality and authenticity of the paper lie in the development of a specific theoretical framework for analysis, as well as the synthesis and comparison of various demographic and economic indicators related to the development of Montenegros regions. In the social and practical context, the paper deepens the foundation for understanding this issue and serves as a source of information for preparing and defining policies, programs, and strategies, both in the field of migratory movements and in terms of economic and regional development in Montenegro. The paper will be published in English as part of the conference proceedings.

In addition to presenting the paper, the conference provided a fruitful forum for exchanging ideas with numerous colleagues from abroad, forming academic connections, and developing ideas for future collaboration. This, inter alia, led to a visit by Dr. Robert Mikac, Professor at the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb, to the Historical Institute of UCG, where experiences were shared, and the foundations for further communication and cooperation were established.

Number of visits : 405
