The book Montenegro on the political and cultural map of Europe - CLIO MAP - was published

These days, the publication of the Historical Institute of Montenegro on the political and cultural map of Europe - CLIO MAP, which represents the crown of the project of the same name, which the Historical Institute of Montenegro realized in the period 2019-2022, came out of the press. with partners from the University of Belgrade, Sapienza University, University of Warsaw, University of Ljubljana and the Institute for Strategic Thinking from Ankara, Turkey.

Over 25 works of renowned researchers from different countries were published in the publication, and some of the works were previously presented at the conference held in December 2021 at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro.

The project Montenegro on the political and cultural map of Europe - CLIO MAP aimed to place the political and cultural history of Montenegro, as well as its cultural heritage, in a modern framework and make it more accessible to everyone interested in this topic. Therefore, in addition to the publication, the team of the Historical Institute and its collaborators developed a GIS database and a mobile application with information about the cultural heritage of Montenegro. The final product is conceived (although this remains for some future projects and researchers) as an open database with the possibility of sending comments by users and continuous verification, i.e. prompt correction. For example, by sending a photo or text, the user of the application can indicate possible ambiguities, biases or (un)intentional errors in the text. Due to unresolved issues of property and possessions, turbulent history, current political tensions and other challenges - it is difficult to approach certain cultural monuments and investigate them using scientific methodology. Also, many scientific works and statuses of cultural assets are subject to gusts of revisionism, collective myths and political interference. Consequently, the duty of scientific workers is more complex than ever and this monograph is an attempt by a multidisciplinary team of m. to point out the importance of a multidimensional approach in preserving heritage.
