190 Vacancies Proposed for Enrolment into the Medical Faculty

At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro (UMNE), for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate studies in the academic year 2025/2026, enrolment of a total of 185 students in five accredited study programs has been proposed. This proposal, which was adopted at the session of the UMNE Steering Committee, refers to following study programs: Medicine (40 students), Dentistry (20 students), Pharmacy (30 students), Applied Physiotherapy in Igalo (45 students), and the Higher Medical School in Berane (50 students).

The Faculty of Medicine at UMNE offers study programs that last from three to six years, providing fundamental education in the fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and nursing.

Candidates applying for enrolment in the Medicine and Dentistry study programs will be required to take an entrance exam in chemistry and biology. For all details regarding the entrance exams and admission requirements, candidates may consult the Rulebook on Conditions and Procedures for Enrolment in Undergraduate Studies at the University of Montenegro.

The studies of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy will be conducted at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica, while part of the teaching will also take place in clinical institutions, including the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, the Institute of Public Health, and the Health Centre Podgorica. The Applied Physiotherapy program is taught in Igalo, in cooperation with the “Dr Simo Milošević” Institute, a renowned centre for rehabilitation, physical and preventive medicine. The Higher Medical School in Berane organizes classes at the University Center Berane, while practical training is conducted at the Berane General Hospital (KBC Berane).

Upon completion of studies at the Faculty of Medicine, graduates gain a wide range of employment opportunities in various healthcare institutions. Medical doctors can work in primary healthcare, and after specialization, have the opportunity to be employed in secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions. Similarly, doctors of dentistry have the opportunity to work in private and public dental clinics, while doctors of pharmacy may work in pharmacies as well as in the field of drug and medical device distribution.
