The international exhibition "Digital Pigment" was officially opened at Gallery 42 and on the plaza of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Montenegro in Cetinje.

Speaking on behalf of the Faculty of Fine Arts, the Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Maja Šofranac, welcomed the visiting professors from the Institute of Art and Theory from Eger, expressing gratitude for the initiative to organize this significant project. Representing the Esterházy Károly Catholic University and the Institute of Art and Theory, Professor Daniel Horvat spoke about the exhibition itself.

The realization of this artistic endeavor was enabled by the Institute of Fine Arts and Theory at the Esterházy Károly Catholic University from Eger, with necessary support and partnership within the Erasmus+ program, adding diversity and an international stamp to the project.

The exhibition features works by students and professors from the Faculty of Fine Arts at UCG, as well as works by their colleagues from the Art Academy in Split and the University in Rzeszów, offering the audience an opportunity to become acquainted with a wide spectrum of digitally inspired art pieces. The widespread use of digital tools and platforms in contemporary art practice has created almost endless possibilities for shaping artistic ideas. However, the digital tool has not only become a brush in the hands of artists but has also resulted in a change in artistic thinking and aesthetics. These new perspectives are now impacting traditional painting methods, concepts, and aesthetics. The previously imagined sharp barrier between analog and digital approaches is increasingly disappearing, becoming permeable, and we must ask ourselves if we already see the entire world through digital lenses, as stated in the explanation of the catalog available at the link.

The exhibition will be opened until April 30, 2024, and can be visited at Gallery 42 every working day from 10 AM to 12 PM and from 1 PM to 3 PM.
