Professor Dr. Velibor Korać has been awarded the prestigious annual University of Montenegro Prize for outstanding contribution to the academic and research field. Esteemed jurist and assistant professor Dr. Velibor Korać received this recognition at the ceremonial session of the Senate of the University of Montenegro, where the award was presented to him by the Rector, Professor Dr. Vladimir Božović.
Dr. Korać has distinguished himself in the academic realm through his creativity and interdisciplinarity in various fields of civil law, resulting in international recognition and influence of his scholarly work. His activity through publishing scientific papers in prestigious international journals has contributed to greater citation and impact, thereby enhancing the reputation of the Faculty of Law and the University of Montenegro.
He is the author of three books, two practical manuals, and over 30 articles. His work published in the eminent international journal Lex Localis - Journal of Local Self-Government, as well as the monograph in the field of civil procedural law published by Kluwer Law International BV, particularly stands out, further contributing to the recognition of Montenegrin legal science.
Dr. Korać is also an active member of international legal institutions such as the European Law Institute, the Commission for Notary Professional Education, and a national expert of the Council of Europe. His participation in drafting key legislative acts in Montenegro and as a national expert of the Council of Europe further confirms his expertise and authority in the legal community.
This year, he also presented his work at the international scientific conference "Legal Tradition and New Legal Challenges" in Novi Sad, further affirming his contribution to legal science.
His engagement as a project coordinator or team member in internationally recognized projects has also contributed to the international positioning of the University of Montenegro. His role in the project "Legal Clinic in Service of Vulnerable Groups: Enhancing Employability of Law Students through Practical Education - ENEMLOS" is particularly noteworthy, with the establishment of the Free Legal Aid Clinic at the Faculty of Law, managed by Dr. Velibor Korać.
