Anthropometric Measurement of the Young Boxing team of Montenegro
Professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, University of Montenegro, Ivan Vasiljevic, and Rajko Milašinović, conducted the anthropometric measurements of the young boxing team of Montenegro on Thursday, July 6th.
The young boxing team of Montenegro is in Niksic on preparations for the European Championship, which will be held in Sofia in September. Boxer team selector Boško Draškovic was also present at the measurements, and he had an insight into the results of young team members which relate to the percentage content of subcutaneous fat, percentage of muscle and bone mass, as well as metabolic parameters. In addition to the mentioned parameters, the young boxers and selector Drašković have been informed about the values of skin folds on certain body segments.
From the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, they especially emphasize the fact that these measurements are of great importance for young athletes in order to check the conformity and development of bone, muscle and fat tissue in the stages of accelerated physical growth and development, as well as the need to monitor and apply the achievements of contemporary Sports Science, and specific training diagnostics of young athletes.
