National Handball Team Pasted the Anthropometric Measurements

In preparations for the European Championship, professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, University of Montenegro, conducted an anthropometric measurements of women's cadet handball team of Montenegro.

Measurements were conducted with Tanita scale, by professors Ivan Vasiljevic and Marija Bubanja. This is device that allows athletes to monitor all relevant parameters.

Based on the software of the device, Montenegrin cadets have had an access to the percentage of the fat in the body structure, the percentage of muscle values and bone mass, as well as metabolic parameters. In addition to the above parameters the values of skin folds at the individual segments of the body were also measured.

From the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education it is been stated that such measurements are particularly important for young athletes to verify compliance and development of bone, muscle and fat tissue in phases of rapid physical growth and development, when, due to improper work and neglecting certain factors maturation may cause negative and harmful, often irreversible, changes in the Locomotor system and metabolism.
