Multidisciplinary Approach is a Key to the Success of the MSA Conference

International scientific conference "Transformation Processes in Sport – Sport Performance", which will be held from March 30 to April 2, in Budva, should contribute to the creation of a new access philosophy of science in the field of sport, so that those to who deal with it in the region could act according to international trends - said the Vice - Rector of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Izet Rađo. He said in an interview for the site of the University of Montenegro, that he expects the conference, organized by the Montenegrin sports academy in collaboration with the University of Montenegro and Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, will raise awareness of young people to become carriers of the scientific ideas and thoughts.
MSA will again gather at the Conference of the top names in the field of sport science. How important is that for the further development of sports science, and education in this area in regional context?
Sports science, at the moment in the world from the level of the local operations evolved into complex multidisciplinary projects and research. I must admit that regionally we are behind European trends. In my humble estimation I can say freely that something interesting in the world 10 years ago, here becomes now a topic of conversation. In doing so, I cannot say that scientific and sports workers who deal with information on trends in sports science are to blame, but simple system solutions that would monitor work on something new does not exist. Listening top lectures in the field is in itself a privilege, but I expect that the Conference in Budva will contribute more to raising awareness of the position of sport science in other systems and that teachers will convey "philosophy" and "systemic thinking" of top science in the field of sport so that we could act according to international trends. I think if lecturers fail to influence the thinking philosophy we will create huge step towards prosperity of sport science in the region.
MSA Conference is high ranked on the map of sports science. Is its multidisciplinary key to success or everything depends from "human factor"?
The human factor is always an initial primer for creating something great and good. I can say that today's conference multidisciplinary platform is independent, but would never have been created without the strong pillars of the "human factor". Today, this platform works and sails in the right direction and I think that now the multidisciplinary nature is the key to success. Of course, internal quality will always depend on the human factor and the potential when properly placed creates quality.
You are longtime partners with MSA and the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education, University of Montenegro. What has held you and other colleagues from the region and the world together for fourteen years?
Trust foremost, and then professionalism. From all of this a common goal has emerged and friendship. Today our journey is focused on creating quality and the future for young people, after all, our profession is dynamic and changeable, and the desire to make a change keeps us focused on the goal, and that is a quality and prosperous system for a young person.
This year the conference will attend about 100 young people - master and doctoral students. What message is sent to young people from conferences like this one, why are they important to them?
The most important thing is that young people establish friendly relations and socialize. Doctoral students and graduates need to become holders of scientific thought and should prosperously work to create their own future, and communications and cooperation with others will help them. Today's science as much as it is multidisciplinary it is a teamwork as well, where mentors and seniors are just leaders in the actual process, and carriers of ideas are young people. Young people should be at these conferences to understand how to think beyond the current framework.
What answers or dilemmas, knowledge, expected you that sports science give / get after the conference in Budva? What’s next?
As I mentioned earlier, I expect that the conference will contribute to the creation of a new access philosophy and that will raise the awareness among the young people to become carriers of scientific ideas and thoughts. Today's life circumstances dictate constant need for fresh and healthy energy, new motifs and challenges in science and sport.
