Anthropometric measurements of football players of Football club “Youth” from Podgorica, which was the champion of Montenegro last year, and in current year it has taken third place with the same number of points as the first “Future” and second “Zeta” and qualified for League of Europe, was organized today.

Measures were conducted by professors of the Faculty for Sport and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro, Duško Bjelica, PhD, Jovan Gardašević, MA and Ivan Vasiljević, MA.

Measuring was conducted with Tanita scale which gives athletes monitoring with all relevant parameters. Tanita scale works according to bioelectric impedance which is efficient and noninvasive method for estimation of body composition.

Based on installed software owned by the scale, football players had insight into percentage content of fat in body structure, as well as segment analysis of fat percentage, (fat percentage in left and right hand, as well as in left and right leg). Footballers also got information on values of visceral fat and on percentage values of muscular and bone mass, as well as parameters of metabolism, for each footballer. Next to these parameters, values of skin wrinkles in certain body segments were also measured.

The Faculty for Sport and Physical Education shall continue with activities of Diagnostic Centre and base of top athletes who will be measured in the future. Results should be professionally analyzed and based on them guidelines for further work of athletes, clubs and associations should be given.
