The Biotechnical Faculty of the University of Montenegro has proposed that, as in previous years, 155 students be enrolled in the first year of undergraduate studies in the 2025/26 academic year. The proposal includes enrolment by study programs: Plant Production (60 students) and Animal Production (35 students) – both in Podgorica, then the applied studies in Mediterranean Fruit Growing in Bar (30 students), and Continental Fruit Growing and Medicinal Herbs in Bijelo Polje (30 students).

This proposal will be submitted to the Management Board of the University of Montenegro for further adoption.
Since 2005, the Biotechnical Faculty has been educating experts in the field of agriculture and food production. The study programs it offers are designed to respond to the challenges of modern agricultural production – safe, high-quality, and sustainable. The programs are in line with European educational standards and include academic and applied studies at the undergraduate, master, and doctoral academic levels.

There is no entrance exam for enrolment at the Biotechnical Faculty. Candidates are ranked according to the Rulebook on Conditions, Criteria, and Procedure for Enrolment in Undergraduate Studies at the University of Montenegro. All those who have completed a gymnasium or a four-year vocational secondary school have the right to enrol.
Classes are conducted in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Declaration, and students have the opportunity for practical training in cooperation with numerous individual producers and companies in the primary production and food industry sector.

The Faculty has experimental estates in Podgorica and Bar, among which the estate in Lješkopolje stands out, with vineyards, orchards, greenhouses, a wine cellar, and a collection of 442 grapevine varieties – one of the largest in the Balkans.
The Biotechnical Faculty provides numerous laboratory services – from seed certification and quality control of wine and dairy products, to analysis of olive oil and plant protection.

With more than 20 signed agreements with business entities and broad informal cooperation, the Faculty ensures conditions for acquiring practical knowledge and skills.
Thanks to new technologies and available development funds, Montenegrin agriculture is rapidly modernizing, and the agro-industry is developing in all segments of processing and placing products of plant and animal origin.

All this creates a need for professional personnel and opens up numerous employment opportunities. Students of the Biotechnical Faculty can work in public administration, the private sector, education, or start their own business, especially in areas that still have great untapped potential such as the production and processing of fruit, vegetables, meat, milk, medicinal herbs, food safety, and agribusiness.
More information is available in the Student Guide.

The University of Montenegro, through the initiative “Scholarships for the Best. Jobs with the Best” and signed agreements with the business sector, provides the best students with scholarships in the amount of 300 euros per month for ten months a year. In addition, students are given the opportunity to undertake internships or professional training in companies with which the University of Montenegro has concluded contracts. In this way, in addition to financial support, students are given direct access to the real business environment.
