Danijel Cerović Joins the Prestigious D’Addario Artist Roster

As of 2025, Danijel Cerović, guitar professor at the Music Academy of the University of Montenegro, has been included in the prestigious D’Addario Artist Roster, joining an elite group of world-class musicians. This recognition is among the most significant in the field of guitar and musical arts, as D’Addario brings together distinguished artists whose artistic and pedagogical work has strong international resonance.

D’Addario & Company, a global leader in the production of strings and musical accessories based in New York, has a legacy dating back to the 17th century. Their Artist Roster is synonymous with artistic excellence and innovation, featuring some of the most renowned names in classical and popular music.

Among the classical guitar legends on this list are:
David Russell, one of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century;
Sharon Isbin, Grammy Award winner and leading American guitarist;
and Sérgio & Odair Assad, the internationally acclaimed Brazilian guitar duo.

In the world of jazz, the roster includes:
Pat Metheny, multi-Grammy Award winner and a legend of modern jazz;
Kurt Rosenwinkel, one of today’s most prominent jazz guitarists;
and Mike Stern, former member of the Miles Davis band and a renowned solo artist.

Danijel Cerović is an internationally recognized guitarist and full-time professor at the Music Academy of the University of Montenegro. As a soloist and member of the Montenegrin Guitar Duo, he has performed on prestigious stages across Europe, North America, and Asia. For the renowned label Naxos, he has recorded two albums featuring transcriptions of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, as well as a solo release dedicated to the music of Sylvius Leopold Weiss.

In addition to his work in Montenegro, Cerović is also a guest professor at the Music Academy in Sarajevo. He has held masterclasses at universities in Toronto, Aveiro, Ljubljana, and Denver, as well as at conservatories in Montreal and Tianjin. He is a regular lecturer in Grožnjan, at the International Cultural Centre of Croatia.

Cerović serves as a jury member at numerous international guitar competitions and is the artistic director of the Nikšić Guitar Festival and the Montenegro International Guitar Competition. He is also a lecturer on Tonebase, a U.S.-based online platform dedicated to music education.

By joining the D’Addario Artist Roster, Professor Cerović has earned a place among the world’s most eminent musicians, affirming his longstanding contribution to the concert and pedagogical scene, as well as his role in promoting Montenegrin musical culture on the global stage.
