LABORATORY FOR X-RAY STRUCTURAL TESTING

The Laboratory for X-ray Structural Testing conducts structural testing and characterization of various classes of compounds and materials in the crystalline state, both for scientific research purposes and for the educational process. The laboratory is equipped with a Philips X-ray diffractometer for powder analysis, which is used for exercises in the subject of chemical bonds and molecular structure. In this part of the laboratory, students acquire basic knowledge in the field of X-ray diffraction and its applications in the structural characterization of different crystalline materials, integrating their understanding of the structure-property relationship and the application of compounds/materials. The laboratory also includes an inorganic synthesis laboratory where scientific research is conducted in the field of inorganic and coordination chemistry, involving the synthesis of new complex compounds (from solution and mechanochemical synthesis) with potential practical applications in pharmaceuticals, medicine, and agriculture. Additionally, the laboratory performs physicochemical characterizations of the obtained new compounds, including UV-VIS spectroscopy, conductometry, and magnetochemistry.
