Nađa Vukašinović Won Scholarship Best of South-East

Nadja Vukasinovic, a student at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica, won the "Best of South-East" scholarship and will spend the next academic year at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria. Vukašinović successfully passed the pre-selection and final round in competition of students from countries of the region who applied for competition in the "Best of South-East" program, launched by Steiermärkische Bank und Sparkassen AG and the University of Graz, supported by Erste in Montenegro the bank.

 

Vukašinović won a one-year scholarship worth up to 9,000 euros and the opportunity to gain international work experience during her internship, as preparation for the future start of her professional career. Scholarship covers costs of accommodation in a student dormitory in Graz, a monthly allowance, tuition fees of the University of Graz, registration, an intensive German course at the University Language Center "Treffpunkt Sprachen", as well as various social and cultural events throughout the year.

 

In the final selection, in which candidates from countries of the region participated, Nadja had a successful presentation on the topic of digitalization in the banking sector.

 

I found out about the scholarship on the Erste Bank website and, given my previous knowledge of German, which is one of the conditions, I decided to apply. After the pre-selection, Erste Bank employees provided me with useful advice helping me to improve my work on digitalization in the banking sector, which helped me win a scholarship and proudly represent our country in this program, Nadja said.

 

This program is a great opportunity for all individuals who want to gain international experience of studying at the University of Karl-Franzens - the second oldest university in Austria with a tradition of over four centuries. I expect to improve my knowledge of foreign languages ​​and acquire theoretical and practical knowledge during my internship at the Steiermärkische Sparkasse bank. Graz is the second largest city in Austria, and primarily a student city with about 30,000 students, so I look forward to meeting the new culture and making friends with people from all over Europe. The year at Karl-Franzens University is important for my academic career and I expect it to open up many opportunities for me to progress and future business success.

 

The program "Best of South-East" is intended for students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in law, economics, technical faculties, metallurgy and geology, as well as concert and opera singing, who are 27 years old at the time of application and who come from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia.
