Board of Science GEA Conference about the Cooperation with Japanese Agency for International Cooperation

Board of Science of International Conference GEA International (Geo Eco-Eco Agro) to be held on the University of Montenegro, at the end of May of this year, met with representatives of Japanese agency for international cooperation (JICA) and Directorate for Extraordinary Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro.  

Meeting was organized before the organization of the conference that will gather scientists worldwide, requiring from participants to present some of their research and good practices of management of natural resources, agriculture, forestry, economics and environment, rural architecture and eco-architecture. One of topics of the conference are natural disasters.      

Starting from the fact that it is highly important to work together with other researchers coming from other cultures, different wisdoms and relations towards natural resources, representatives from the University and Directorate asked that JICA considers possibility to give support through engagement experts from Kyoto & Tottori University into work of the upcoming Conference.

Japanese agency for international cooperation in its work is characterized by aspiration for supporting initiatives that work with safety of people and increase of productivity and efficiency.

All three parties of the meeting want to strategically approach to important issues of prevention actions in fight against natural hazards, with wide and long-term perspectives, approaching together to establishing an early warning system that would improve resilience to these incidents in Montenegro. Innovations and application of knowledge bring to great results, as it was concluded on the meeting.

Mission and vision of all three parties that attended this meeting are similar in this issue and means of the future cooperation were looked for.  

The meeting was attended by expert from Japan Hiro Okuda, on behalf of the Japanese agency for international cooperation: Ljuban Tmušić and Kristina Palajsa-Backović from Directorate for Extraordinary situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro and Velibor Spalević, PhD from study program geography of the Faculty of Philosophy UMNE on behalf of International GEA conference.
