Cooperation Agreement with the Indian Institute of Science from Bangalore Signed

Today, Rector of the University of Montenegro, Danilo Nikolic, PhD and Director of the Indian Institute of Science, prof. Anurag Kumar signed the Agreement on Academic Cooperation, in Bangalore, India.

The University of Montenegro and the Indian Institute of Science set the foundations for establishing solid and effective academic links, cultural relations and cooperation in the fields of scientific and higher education. The agreement will open the door for the exchange of expertise, knowledge, ideas, but also joint, intercultural exchanges also with the Institute ranked among the top 100 world institutes,’ Rector Nikolic said.

By signing the Letter of Intent on Cooperation on March 27, the first step was made in establishing cooperation with the Indian Institute of Science from Bangalore, which enables the training and exchange of academic staff and students, and above all students at PhD studies.

The signing was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, Igor Vusanovic,PhD who emphasized that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering has the honor to be the first to host the visiting experts of the Institute.

During the stay at the institute, Rector Nikolic and Dean Vusanovic visited their Center for Nano Technology (CeNSE), which deals with interdisciplinary research with a focus on nano-systems and is the largest and most prestigious center of itskind in India. The Center offers PhD studies in a wide range of areas and has a close interaction with the industry.

They met with delegation of the Indian Institute of Science and discussed on co-operation in specific fields related to chemistry, mechanics, biology, engineering, civil engineering and computing.

The Indian Institute of Science is a state higher education and scientific and research institution in the fields of sciences and technical and technological sciences, design and management. According to the academic ranking of world universities, i.e. the Shanghai list, this Institute ranks between 301st and 400th place among ranked universities in the world in 2017, and the only higher education institution in India included in this ranking. In the last three years, the Institute is ranked at the first place of universities in India according to their national ranking of universities.
