Internationalization has always been one of the strategic objectives of the University of Montenegro, starting from the first signed agreement with the partner university in 1975 to the current 138 with universities from 37 countries. This was stated by the Rector of the University of Montenegro prof. Dr. Danilo Nikolic on today's Info Day of the Erasmus + Program, organized by the National Erasmus + Office in Montenegro.

"The strengthening of this international network of cooperation and the exchange of ideas and knowledge, besides our needs, wishes and perspectives, has been significantly contributed by international cooperation programs, in particular those funded by the European Union funds," said Rector Nikolic, referring to the earlier Tempus program that was significant support for capacity building and reform of the higher education system.

"Since 2014, through the Erasmus + program, the University of Montenegro has continued the good practice of participating in projects for capacity building and credit mobility projects. This year UCG received a grant for a co-ordination project that will be implemented at the Rectorate level with five more in which the University is a partner institution. When we take into account projects that are currently being implemented, we come up with a figure of two coordinator and 12 projects in which we are a partner institution, "said Rector Nikolic.

When it comes to this theme, he added, credit mobility within the Erasmus + program was concluded with 79 credit mobility contracts, within which 430 students, teaching and non-teaching staff were exchanged. In the same period, 49 students and 156 staff members of the partner universities stayed at the University of Montenegro.

"Mobility is precious for students, academic and non-academic staff and their further professional development," said Rector Nikolic.
