After the student passes this exam, he/she will be able to: 1. define basic terms from the methodology of teaching reading and writing; 2. explain the development of writing and literacy in a phylogenetic and ontogenetic context; 3. describe the processes of acquiring different types of reading and writing starting from initial literacy; 4. explain methodological approaches to learning to read and write, teaching methods, techniques, strategies, and learning procedures; 5. evaluates students progress in mastering reading and writing by applying appropriate measuring instruments; 6. proposes corrections in the systematic procedures of learning to read and write under the identified difficulties and disorders of reading and writing.
