After passing the exam in Anthropology of the contemporary and popular culture, the student will be able to: • interpret theoretical and methodological frameworks for studying the contemporary; • analyze new paradigms in anthropology through the sphere of popular culture; • analyzes semiotic resistance in the sphere of popular (subcultural and countercultural groups); • explain the concept of time and space in the information society; • recognize anthropological approach to globalization, the relationship between local and global; • analyze the popular culture as a folklore of the post-industrial society; • analyze the concept of consumerism and satisfaction in popular culture.
