After successfully completing the course, the student will be able to: 1. Explain the transformation of Italian politics, society and customs after the fall of the Berlin Wall; 2. Interpret the causes and consequences of the immigration phenomenon in Italy since the beginning of the 1990's. 3. Analyzed the particular situation of the South of Italy and the Mafia phenomenon; 4 Discusses the social and cultural situation of contemporary Italy using examples from literature and film.
