After passing this exam, the student will be able to: 1. define and use the basic concepts from discourse analysis and the disciplines that contribute to discourse analysis as a multidisciplinary approach; 2. name the main areas and interests in the analysis of language in use; 3. recognize the interactional, social, political and cultural goals of using spoken and written language in different contexts of actual use (genres, registers); 4. describe the ways of achieving them and discuss their effects; 5. apply theoretical approaches and methodologies when analyzing the independently collected material.
