After successfully completing this course, the student should be able to: 1. List the most important authors and works of German and English Romanticism, French and Russian Realism, as well as the literature of Modernism written in English and German language. 2. Describe the poetic and genre features of works listed in syllabus concerning the political and historical context. 3. Categorize the works listed in syllabus by literary periods and genres. 4. Show the affective positive relation to ethic and esthetic values contained within the works of world literature. 5. Analyze and interpret the literary works listed in syllabus and recognize the relevant concepts from the history of ideas within.
