Upon passing the exam, the student will be able to explain the significance of elements, and ions in the biochemical processes of animals. They will also be able to understand biomolecules, the structure, and chemical composition of animal cells and tissues, as well as explain the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids in animals. Additionally, they will be able to explain the processes of gluconeogenesis, the Ornithon cycle, and cellular respiration in animals. This course covers the main metabolic processes of amino acids, the structure and importance of proteins, the energy metabolism, the chemical composition, synthesis and role of animal hormones, vitamins and enzymes, DNA replication, and the processes of transcription and translation of the genetic message. It also mentions the recognition of simpler experiments in the laboratory and the connection between the results of experimental work and theoretical knowledge.
