University of Montenegro and EIT HEI ABCD project at DeepTech Alliance Industry 4.0 Summit 2023 in Ljubljana - 29.11.2023

The University of Montenegro participates in the EIT HEI ABCD project, as the first project in Montenegro that is supported by the EIT HEI initiative.

DeepTech Alliance Industry 4.0 Summit 2023 brought together the representatives of the Alliance, as well as enabled pitching of the deep tech ecosystems and startups of Southeast Europe that participate in the training program (9 weeks long) within the ABCD project. Today, five startups from North Macedonia, Serbia and Albania had the opportunity to present their business ideas, which were developed using the business canvas model and thereby gain the attention of potential investors and other startups in Europe.

The ABCD project is the first project that supports and strengthens the deep tech community in the region of the Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe, and thus contributes to the strengthening of innovative and entrepreneurial potential in the region and beyond, increasing the strategic importance and contribution of the project to strengthening the economies of the countries in this region.

Project partners are: Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) (lead partner), Hungary, University of Sarajevo (UNSA), Bosnia & Herzogovina, Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT), Albania, University American College Skopje (UACS), North Macedonia, Business Accelerator UKIM (BAU), North Macedonia, Belgrad Metropolitan University (BMU), Srbij, EPICENTAR - Centar za edukaciju, preduzetnistvo i inovacije (EPIC), Serbia, DisruptiveHub (DH), Slovakia, BothofUS (BOUS), Sweden, University of Motenegro (UoM), Montenegro. Pridruženi članovi su: Verlab Institute, Bosnia & Herzogovina I Innovation Center Kosovo, Kosovo*.

On the sidelines of the DeepTech Alliance Industry 4.0 Summit 2023, that took place in Ljubljana on November 29, 2023, a project Steering Committee meeting was held in order to review the activities that have been implemeted in previous period and consider the benefits and needs of continuing the implementation of the project in the second phase in 2024.
