Biography

Kosta Goranović was born on 2 March in Trebinje, Bosnia and Hezegovina.

He is a citizen of Montenegro. He lives in Niksic.

He finished primary and secondary schools in Trebinje, Bosnia and Hezegovina.

He graduated from the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education of the University of Novi Sad, in 1999 with average grade 8,00.

He earned a Master of Science in the field of Physical Education in 2005 at the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Novi Sad, where he defended his master thesis with topic: ‘’Influence of programmed recreational exercise on some dimensions of psychosomatic status of workers’’.

He defended his doctoral dissertation with topic : ‘’Predictive values of diagnostic procedures in evaluation of physical preparation of sportsmen’’ in 2009 at the Faculty of Sports and Tourism in Novi Sad, by which he obtained the PhD in sports.

In September 2022, at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro, he was elected to the position of docent in the field of Sports science. At the same Faculty he was elected to be a vice dean for international cooperation.

From 2014 to 2021 he was hired at the Faculty of Sports Management of the University of Donja Gorica, as a teaching associate at the subject Theory of sport, as well as a teacher at subjects Antropomotrics and Theory of sports training.

In the period from 2008 to 2011, at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education in Niksic, he was hired as a teaching associate at the following subjects: Theory of sports, Research in sport, Fitness in the chosen sport, Transformation processes in sport, Resources in sport, Activities in nature and Olympism.

As an author and co-author, he has published about thirty scientific and professional papers in the field of sports science in the country and abroad, two of which are on the SCIE list in the category Q1 and Q4.

He was a mentor for diploma papers, as well as a president and a member of Commission for defence of diploma and specialist papers at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Montenegro and The Faculty of Sports Management of the University of Donja Gorica.

In the Football Association of Montenegro, he has been one of the authors of the national strategy and program for development and improvement of the youth football in Montenegro. 

From 2019 to 2022, in the Football Association of Montenegro, he has been a member of expert staff and a fitness coach of the youth representation of Montenegro (in 21).

Since 2014, in the Football Association of Montenegro, in the Centre for coach education of the Football Association of Montenegro, he has been a permanent lecturer in the field of fitness on all levels of the program for coach education according to UEFA criteria.

As a member of delegation of the Centre for Coach Education of the Football Association of Montenegro,  he has been an active participant of study visits to elite European football clubs for several times. He has also attended expert seminars organized by UEFA, which included various trainings with a special accent on fitness in football.

As a fitness trainer of FC Sutjeska Niksic, he achieved excellent results in professional and practical work with football players. As a member of expert staff of FC Sutjeska from 2012, he has won four titles of champion of Montenegro as well as a winner’s trophy of Montenegro Cup. He took part in qualifications for Champions League UEFA for four times, and two times in qualifications for the League of Europe UEFA.

Since 2016 he has been a lecturer at the invitation of the Institute of Sports and Sports Medicine of Montenegro as well as Association of Sports Medicine of Montenegro.

He has become an instructor of self-defence after successfully done specialist trainings in the Police Academy in Danilovgrad.

He has been a member of the Jury for the Award of the Liberation of Niksic for 2018 from among prominent scientists, cultural and sports workers from the territory of the Municipality of Niksic.
