Institute for Advanced Studies UMNE Awarded with Research Grant of the University in Oxford

Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Montenegro (IAS UMNE) has won the research grant of the University in Oxford that will also be partner on project named Beyond the Anticlerical Paradigm: Rethinking Secularism in Contemporary Montenegro. The project will be implemented in the period of 17 months.

Project IAS is applied in international competition implemented within the program New Horizons of Science and Religion in Central and Eastern Europe on University Centre for science and religion „Ian Ramsey”, financed by foundation „Jon Templeton”.

Interdisciplinary project is aimed at questioning reception of „secularism” and „secularity” in social, political and intellectual public in Montenegro. The project will be managed by dr Filip Ivanović, science associate on IAS, while science associate dr Bojan Baća and associate in research Feđa Pavlović will be in charge of sociological and political component of the research. In order to connect the young scientific diaspora with IAS as a center for research excellence in social sciences and humanities, other Montenegrin researchers who are training abroad will be engaged in the project. 

In addition to the scientific research part, the project will finance international networking and capacity development of the IAS.
