Biography - Kusovac Olivera

Dr Olivera Kusovac, Associate Professor, graduated in the English language and literature from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade, where she subsequently received her MA degree in literary studies. She obtained her PhD from the same university, defending her thesis on Tennessee Williams’ dramatic language in Serbian translations.

In her career she has attended a number of specialized courses abroad: Teaching Drama, Broadstairs, UK; Gender and Culture, CEU, Budapest (FOSI ROM grant); Translation Research Summer School, London, organized by three British universities. As a researcher, she has also visited the University of Manchester (Tempus IMG) as well as participated in the Nida School of Translation Studies (Misano Adriatico - San Pellegrino University Foundation).

She has partaken in a large number of international conferences and has authored a number of papers in literature and literary translation. The postgraduate and undergraduate courses she has run include Translation theory, Academic writing and English literature, as well as ESP courses in the fields of fine arts and dramatic arts. She actively engages in written translation, especially in the field of art, in which she has translated an array of various books and monographs. As a practising translator, she combines and explores translator practice and theory.
