Biography - Vukasojević Sandra

Sandra Vukasojević was born on November 23, 1980 in Nikšić. Having completed philological secondary school in Podgorica in 1999, she began her studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, at the Department of English language and literature. Upon successful completion of her studies in 2004, she enrolled master studies at the Faculty of Philology – Department of Linguistics, University of Belgrade. In July 2009 Sandra defended her thesis entitled Prosody in TV Talk Shows, under the mentorship of professor Vesna Polovina, and received her Master's degree in Linguistics.

Having defended her dissertation on The Functions and Meanings of Intonational Contours in English and Montenegrin, under the mentorship of professor Radmila Šević, in September 2016, she obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić.

Sandra Vukasojević has worked at the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić as a teaching assistant since 2004. She teaches English Phonetics and Phonology as well as English as a Second Language (Dept. of German, French, Italian and Russian).

She has published a number of articles in scientific journals. Her main interests focus on experimental phonetics and phonology, contrastive linguistics, conversation analysis and computational linguistics. In particular, her research centres around intonation and its functions in relation to the information structure, interrogative structure and turn-taking in English and Montenegrin. Sandra Vukasojević is a member of Montenegrin Association for American Studies dr Biljana MilatovicAssociation for American Studies in South East Europe, and European Association for American Studies.
