Biography - Mugoša Snežana

Snežana Mugoša was born on February 14, 1979 in Nikšić. She attended Olga Golović Elementary School and Stojan Cerović Gymnasium in Nikšić, where she graduated as the valedictorian. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica in 2004 with the highest average grade in the generation (9.69). She has won numerous scholarships and awards for exceptional achievements during schooling, with a particularly important award "19. December", which is awarded to the best students of the University.

In 2004, she enrolled in postgraduate course at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapy, and in 2009 she defended her masters thesis entitled "Intensive monitoring of adverse drug reactions in hospitalized patients in the cardiology department: pilot project" at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica with a grade "A". She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Analysis of risk factors for the occurrence of adverse drug reactions in cardiac patients" with a grade "A" in 2015, also at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica. She completed a four-year specialization in the Internal Medicine at the Clinical Center of Montenegro and the Clinical Center of Serbia, and she passed the specialist exam in 2011 with a grade "excellent" at the Medical Faculty of the University of Belgrade.

Her research interests are related to the fields of pharmacotherapy, clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenetics and pharmacoepidemiology. In these areas, she has established cooperation with foreign institutes of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology, as well as with reference laboratories, especially within the implementation of a research project of the Ministry of Science of Montenegro entitled "Analysis of risk factors for the occurrence of adverse drug reactions in cardiac patients", led by her masters and doctoral studies mentor, prof. Dr. Zoran Todorović, full professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade.

She has successfully completed numerous courses in the fields of experimental and clinical pharmacology, pharmacogenetics, pharmacovigilance, and clinical trials of drugs and medical devices. She is a Good Clinical Practice Inspector certified by the European Medicines Agency.

She is a lecturer at the Clinical Research Associate Academy (CRA) in Belgrade (an academy for education of health professionals in the field of clinical trials of drugs and medical devices, certified by Continuing Professional Development (CPD)) since 2013, as well as at all conferences and courses organized by the CRA Academy.

The results of her research work to date have been published in journals indexed on SCI/SCIE lists and in the form of oral or poster presentations at a large number of national and international congresses.

She is a member of the European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapy (EACPT), the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), the Association for the Advancement of Clinical Trials of Serbia (KLINIS) and a member of the Good Clinical Practice Inspectors Working Group at the European Medicines Agency.

After completing an internship for medical doctors, she was employed at the Institute for Emergency Medical Care in Podgorica. In the period from 2006 to 2012, she was employed at the Cardiology Center of the Clinical Center of Montenegro. From 2012 she was employed at the Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices of Montenegro as the Head of the Department for clinical trials and medicines efficacy and safety evaluation and from September 2021 to February 2022 she held the position of Deputy Director. In February 2022, based on the public advertisement, she was appointed as Managing Director of the Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices for a period of five years.

From the school year 2004/2005, she was engaged as a teaching associate at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica for the pharmacological group of subjects in the study programs Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, and since the school year 2015/2016 she worked as a teaching associate with a doctoral degree (lecturer) in the subjects Pharmacology II, Pharmacotherapy I and II and Pharmacokinetics. She has always been evaluated with the highest grade for the quality of pedagogical work, i.e. the quality of teaching by students. In December 2021, by the decision of the Senate of the University of Montenegro, she was elected teaching assistant in the field of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy and Pharmacological Group of Medical Subjects at the Faculty of Medicine.
