Biography - Ćeranić Goran

Goran Ćeranić was born on November 1, 1975, in Nikšić, where he completed his primary and secondary school education. He graduated from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, in Nikšić, in 1999. He enrolled in the graduate programme on Sociology of Work at the same university and in 2005 defended his Master's thesis A Sociological Analysis of the Ownership Structure in the Post-socialist Montenegro (1989-2000). In March 2014 he defended his PhD thesis entitled A Sociological Analysis of Entrepreneurship in the Post-socialist Montenegro. Besides being published in the local and regional journals, the results of the dissertation have been published by the journal Sociologičeskoe isljedovanije which is issued by the Russian Academy of Sciences and included in the Thomson Reuters’ SSCI list. He is an author of several other academic papers and has had notable participation at a number of international conferences.

Goran has taken part in several international projects, of which particularly significant was the “Comparative sociological research on property and entrepreneurship in the post-socialist period (Montenegro - Russia)”, jointly carried out by the Institute for Sociology and Psychology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić and the Faculty of Sociology at the MGU Lomonosov.

From 2001 Goran worked as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy – the Sociology Study Programme, and in March 2017 he was elected Associate Professor for the following disciplines: Sociology of Work I, Sociology of Work II, Sociology of Montenegrin Society I and Sociology of Montenegrin Society II.

He currently serves as the Chair of the Sociology Study Programme.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Sociološka luča.
