Biography - Maslovarić Biljana

I was born on the 4th of August 1963 in Štip, Macedonia. I completed elementary and secondary education in Titograd. I graduated from the Teacher Training Faculty in Nikšić, then the University "Veljko Vlahovic" in 1988, and earned the title of Professor of Marxism and Socialist education. I acquired my second university education degree in 1995, from the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, the University of Montenegro when I became a professor of sociology.

In the school year 2004/05 I enrolled in the first year of postgraduate studies at the University of Novi Sad, and defended my master's thesis entitled: Management of leisure time as a factor in the development of adult personality, thus obtaining the academic title: Master of Science in Interdisciplinary field of Management in education on 12 December 2007.

I defended my PhD dissertation entitled: Education for democracy and the role of schools in developing democratic attitudes of pupils on 16 July 2009, at the University of Novi Sad, thus obtaining the title: Doctor of Science in interdisciplinary field of management education.

My work experience (over 25 years) is predominantly related to the field of education as follows: from 1992 to 1998, I was hired as a professor of social sciences (Sociology, Philosophy, Constitution and Civil Rights, Traffic psychology, etc.), when I passed my professional exam for teachers and educators at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić. From 1998 to 2001 I was an employee of the Open Society Foundation/Open Society Institute – Representative Office in Montenegro, as a coordinator of the following programs: Support for Higher Education (HESP), Arts and Culture, Publishing, Women's Program. From 2001 to 2010 I was working as a coordinator of the Pedagogical Center of Montenegro (PCMNE), where I worked on coordination, training, certification, implementation of various programs and as an MTT (Master Teacher Trainer) of educational programs such as Reading and writing for critical thinking - RWCT; Step by step - SBS (educational child-centered methodology), Inclusive education, Publishing etc. Since 2012 I am the executive director of the Pedagogical center of Montenegro. Since 2011 I have been occupying the position at the National representative for Montenegro at the World Forum for preschool - early care and education (World Forum on Early Care and Education). I have been an active member of the International Step by Step association (ISSA) since 2001. Also, I am a volunteer member of the Board of EXPEDITIO, and 2008 I have been serving as the President of the Management Board of the Foundation for Active Citizenship (FAKT). In the period between November 2012 and December 2013, I also occupied the position Head of the Agency for assistance intercultural education, at the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights.

In 2007 I took the position of a teaching associate at the Study Program for Preschool Education.

I was appointed assistant professor (Docent) by the Senate of the University of Montenegro held on 17 February 2011, and based on the decision of the Senate of the University of Montenegro, from 27 October2016, I was re-appointed for a period of five years.

I have been serving as a Deputy Dean for Science and International Relations at the Faculty from 18 September 2014.
