Biography - Đukanović Slobodan

Slobodan Đukanović was born on July 04, 1976. in Valjevo, Republic of Serbia. He finished elementary and secondary electrotechnical school in Lajkovac, Republic of Serbia.

Slobodan Đukanović enrolled at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE), University of Montenegro, in 1995, where he graduated in 2001 with an average grade during studies 8.56.

Postgraduate studies he enrolled in 2002 at the FEE in Podgorica, where and when he was employed as a staff intern. He defended MSc thesis entitled "Analysis and removal of non-stationary narrowband interferences in DSSS communication systems," on November 11, 2004.

PhD thesis entitled "The optimum receiver for the removal of non-stationary jammers in DSSS systems based on the local polynomial Fourier-transformation" he defended on May 18, 2008, at the FEE in Podgorica.

During his doctoral studies, he spent one month (September 2006) in Naples, Italy, at University Federico II, Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica. In 2008/2009, he spent one year in Grenoble, France, where he worked on the project Tetras, at the research center GIPSA-lab. During December 2015 - December 2016, he was a visiting professor at Università Degli Studi di Napoli "Parthenope", Naples, Italy, where he held the course "Fourier analysis and instantaneous frequency estimation" for the doctoral studies degree program of Information Engineering.

Slobodan Đukanović was promoted to a position of Assistant professor at the University of Montenegro on February 26, 2009, and Associate Professor on June 26, 2014. 

He authored 75 scientific papers, of which 25 in renowned international journals. He is also an author of three textbooks. He has been involved in several international and national research projects.

Slobodan Đukanović received an award from the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts for achievements in the field of science in 2010.

Within the period June 2014 - November 2017, he held a position of the Scientific Director of BIO-ICT Center of Excellence.
