Biography - Čarapić Dragana

BIOGRAPHY

Dragana Čarapić was born in Bijelo Polje in 1975. She finished the Elementary and Grammar School in Podgorica as the holder of a diploma “Luča”. She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro in the department of the English language and literature. Dragana completed her Master’s studies in the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade in the department of linguistics with an average grade 9.50. At the Faculty of Philology she defended her PhD thesis entitled “Comparative analysis of the near synonymy samples in English and Montenegrin“ in 2016. While doing her research, some of the research findings Dragana shared with scientific and professional audience by publishing papers in journals with the international editorial boards as well as the journals indexed in the SCI/AHCI list. This thesis is a significant contribution to the research in the field of lexical semantics in the English and Montenegrin language as its specific method of linguistic analysis can be applied to the analysis of these two liguistic systems and thus contribute to their better description.

Thanks to the Erasmus + programme for academic staff she stayed in Ireland (University of Limerick, MIC, Ireland) and participated in the conference Languages & Linguistics: International Perspectives. (http://www.mic.ul.ie/latestnews/Pages/Erasmus.aspx)

Within Erasmus+ programme for academic staff, she attended and successfully completed the intensive course "Quantivative analysis in R" in the Netherlands (Nijmegen, Radboud University).

Ms Čarapić is a member of the Applied Linguistics Society of Montenegro.

Since 2008 she has worked in the Examination Center of Montenegro as the national matura exam evaluator.
