Biography - Joksimović Gojko

Prof. dr Gojko Joksimović was born in Berane, Montenegro, 09. 11. 1967, where he completed primary school and Gymnasium. After finished military service, he began studies at Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica where he graduated in 1991. and starting working at the same Faculty. He received his MSc (1995) and PhD degrees (2000) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro. He was promoted to the University Professor in 2011.

As an honorary research fellow he spent academic 1997/98 year at the Department of Engineering, University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. As a postdoctoral researcher he spent one academic year, 2001/02, at the Institute for the conversion of electrical energy of the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, as Alexander von Humboldt fellow.

He also completed a lot of short study visits at the University La Sapienza in Rome, the Technical University of Vienna, the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Technical University of Darmstadt, Liverpool John Moores University etc.

He is the author of two scientific research monographs, one of which was recently published (2017) by reputable international publisher, IET (https://www.theiet.org/resources/books/pow-en/dianos.cfm). In addition, he is the author of two university textbooks and co-author of three university textbooks. He is the author of two textbooks for secondary vocational education. His eighteen research papers were published in major international journals in the field of electrical engineering. His works has been cited more than 1,260 times and his h-index is 13 (Google Scholar Citations, January 2019). He is the reviewer for many international scientific journals.

On two occasions, in 2014 and 2018, he was a member of the Committee for defense of doctoral dissertations at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria.

During 2015. he was also an external member of the committee (external pre-examiner) for doctoral dissertation at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland.

On several occasions, he was vice-dean at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro and head of the study program.

He is a Senior Member of IEEE.

He is member of the department of natural sciences of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, CANU.

He speaks English and German language and has a passive knowledge of Russian language.
