Biography - Vujisić Slavica+




Born 30.11.1956. in Pljevlja, Montenegro, where she finished elementary and high school (gymnasium). She enrolled in Medical faculty in Belgrade in 1975, graduating in 1980, with 8,53 average grade. She begun Neurology specialization in 1985, at Medical faculty in Belgrade, passing Specialist exam in 1988, magna cum laude. In 1989 she enrolled sub-specialization „Clinical neurophsyiology with epileptology“ at Medical faculty in Belgrade, passing oral exam with excellent marks, while successfully defending thesis „Early and advanced posttraumatic epilepsy – prognosis criteria“ in 1995.

She enrolled in Master studies in 1997 at Medical faculty in Belgrade. She passed oral MS exam in 2000 magna cum laude. She successfully defended Master thesis „Incidence and diagnostic problems with epilepsy in elders“ in 2001. She successfully defended doctoral dissertation named „Clinical, neurophysiological and epidemiological aspects of epilepsy and migraine in adults“ in 2005 in Novi Sad.

She was elected Docent on the Neurology classes at Medical faculty in Podgorica, in 2006. In 2011, she was elected Associate Professor at the faculty, while attaining the title of Full Professor in 2017.

 

She is EUREPA (European Epileptology Academy) trainer since 2008. She was elected Mentor for parts of specialist practice in Neurology at Medical faculty in Belgrade. She was two-term president of Montenegrin Neurologist Association, and vice president of Association of Serbia and Montenegro Leagues Agains Epilepsy.

She was a guest of Epilepsy centers of Medical University in Innsbruck and Cleveland Clinic, as well as at Medical faculty in Udine. She organized numerous expert conferences, and was a guest lecturer in numerous such conferences in the region. She is a member of UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) and EAN (European Academy of Neurology).

In 2011-2015 period, she was in the Management board of Clinical center of Montenegro, as a Director of Science center. She is a leader of national science project “Prospective study on influence of genetic and environmental factors on MS occurrence in Montenegro”. She published 6 papers featured on sci and sci exp list, as well as numerous papers in international publications, congress reports, lectures within continuous medical education (KME).

Narrow field of interest include epilepsy, MS, electroencephalography.
