Biography - Đurović Mirko




Mirko Đurović, PhD is a scientific associate at the Institute of Marine Biology in Kotor, Laboratory for Ichthyology and Marine Fisheries. He graduated at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in Podgorica, Department of Biology in 2003. The doctoral dissertation titled "Ecological exploration of the juvenile beetle Engraulis encrasicolus (Linnaeus, 1758) (Crustacea, Decapoda) in Boka Kotorska Bay" was defended in 2012 at the Faculty of Biology in the University of Belgrade.

Since 2004 he has been working at the Institute of Marine Biology, where she actively participates in the research of marine biological resources and contributes to the development of marine fisheries biology in Montenegro. The field of research is marine fisheries, population dynamics of pelagic and demerical fish species, fish stocks management. He is a member of national projects related to the assessment of biomass of demerical resources of the Montenegrin coast, as well as the determination of their optimal level of utilization, which the Institute works within the framework of development programs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro. She is a member of many bilateral and international projects, among which special mention are projects of scientific research on fisheries in the Adriatic Sea and the Mediterranean (FAO AdriaMed and MEDITS). He has headed the EU IPA project NETCET, which was implemented from 2012-2016 in the framework of the European Network for the Protection of Sea Mermaids and Sea Turtles on the Adriatic Sea.
