Biography - Piletić Deja

Deja Piletić holds a degree in Italian Language and Literature from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology, where she also defended her master’s thesis entitled “Grammatical and Stylistic Features of Titles in the Italian Press”. In February 2014, Deja Piletić successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled “Translation at the University Studies of the Italian Language and Literature: From Pedagogical Translation towards the Acquisition of Translation Competence” at the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Philosophy.

Thanks to the scholarships and grants of Italian institutions, she has attended several courses in the field of Italian language, culture and intercultural communication (Perugia, Florence, Bari, Reggio Calabria, Rome, Gemona) and had the opportunity to realize a four-month stay at the University of Roma Tre, where she worked on her research in the field of language for special purposes – Italian language of journalism.

From 2002-2015 she was employed as a teaching assistant at the Department of Italian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro. In July 2015, she was appointed Assistant Professor in the area of Italian linguistics at the same university.

From December 2016 to March 2017, as a young researcher and scholar she stayed at the University of Turin  - Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literature (Università degli Studi di Torino - Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature Straniere e Culture Moderne), where she held a course on translation of legal texts to the students of Serbian and Croatian language  and started working on her research project entitled “Contrasting and comparing legal Italian and legal Montenegrin/Serbian for the purposes of legal translation and the didactics of translating specialized texts” for which she had obtain a scholarship within the World Wide Style project.

Deja Piletić works at the Department of the Italian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology, University of Montenegro, where she teaches morphology and syntax of Italian within the Italian language module, as well as translation as part of the Modern Italian Language module, both at the undergraduate university level.

She has published several articles in international peer-reviewed linguistic journals and in proceedings of international linguistic conferences, including conferences on Italian studies.

Additionally, she works as freelance translator from and into Italian, as well as a court interpreter appointed by the Minister of Justice of Montenegro in 2009.

In Ocotber 2018, she obtained the qualification of the official CELI examiner from the University for Foreigners of Perugia. CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) is an internationally recognized qualification of the Italian language.

Her research interests and activities are in the area of translation studies, translation didactics, glotodidactics and language for specific purposes.
