Pedagogical activities:  

In the study year 1989/90 he was engaged part-time at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica as an assistant on the course: Metal structures. In the period from 1990 to 2000, he was employed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica as an assistant on the course: Metal structures. From 2000 to 2005 he worked at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Montenegro as an assistant professor, on the courses: Metal structures and Timber structures. In the period from 2005 to 2010 he worked at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Montenegro, on the courses: Metal structures, Design and construction of metal structures, Steel and composite bridges, Timber structures and Steel structures. In 2010 he gained the professional title a full professor for the courses: Steel structures and Design and construction of steel structures.

He was a mentor for the preparation of five Ph.D. dissertations, 11 master’s theses and numerous graduates or specialist theses. He was a commission member for the defense of 10 doctoral dissertations and 15 master’s theses.

 

Scientific research and professional work:

He has participated or managed in the production of seven scientific research projects. He has published 110 scientific and professional papers in international, domestic magazines and monographs, scientific and professional conferences at home and abroad where he participated with reports, papers, invited lectures, etc. He is author of the book about his experimental researches in English. His papers has been citated 108 times in leading scientific and professional journals (h-index 6, i10-index 5, 53 citations since 2014). He has reviewed several papers and publications at home and abroad.

He has been a responsible designer or a leading designer for more than 300 projects. He has been a president or a team member for the professional supervision of construction works for numerous projects, he has ben a president or a commission memeber for the technical control or revision of technical documentation for numerous projects, as well as a president or the comission member for the technical review of the executed works on the numerous projects. He has been a manager or a team member for the structures load testing on several projects. He has been the author or a team member for the preparation of numerous of study papers, professional opinions, expertises or for consulting services. He has been the manager for the construction works on 12 projects. He has been the team member whose project was marked by the jury in 2000, as the best work at the international tender for the choice of structural solution and the constructional concept for the new bridge over the Danube river in Novi Sad, on the location of the distoyed railway-road bridge.

  

Professional activities:

In the period from 2000 to 2004, he was a vice-dean for the finances and he was a director of the Institute for civil engineering and building construction at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica. He was selected for the dean at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in 2004, and in two mandated periods he was a dean util August 2010.

He was a President of the Commission for the professional exam of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro, from 2002 to 2008. He is a vice-president of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro since 2012. During 2006 he was a Federal Commission member for the standards of the Institute for Standardization – Design of steel structures, composite structures of steel and concrete and aluminum structures. He is a member of the technical committee of the Institute for standardization of Montenegro for introduction of Euro codes and he is a manager of ad-hoc groups for Steel and Aluminum structures. He has been a president or a member of more scientific and professional coordination bodies and commissions. He has been a member of the editorial board of the magazine Techniques–Our civil engineering, since 2004. He has been editor of the Proceedings or the member of the scientific and steering committees at more international conferences. He is a full member of the Academy of Engineering sciences of Montenegro. He is a member of the Department for technical sciences of Montenegrin academy of sciences and arts. He is a member of the professional society IABSE - International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. He is a member of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro and Montenegrin association of structural engineers.

He gained the prize of the Yugoslav association of structural engineers for the best scientific paper in the year 1999.
