MEDIA 2040: Empowering Young Advocates for Media Freedom in the Western Balkans

The Faculty of Political Sciences has begun work on the implementation of the project "Media 2040: Empowering Young Advocates for Media Freedom in the Western Balkans", which involves universities from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, North Macedonia, and Kosovo.

Through an interactive and inclusive process, we have formulated a vision for the media in 2040 and discussed the challenges and factors that can help us achieve this vision. It should be understood as a general framework that requires further elaboration to take into account specific local trends and the competencies of stakeholders.

The project is funded and supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Podgorica was the first location where students from the second and third years of the Media Studies and Journalism Study Program, alongside technical faculties and the universitys Rectorate, asked students and citizens about their perception of the media today and what they envision for the media in 16 years.
