Doctor Aleksandra Klisić Awarded the Annual Prize of the University of Montenegro

The University of Montenegro has recognized the exceptional contribution of Assoc. Dr. Aleksandra Klisić in the field of laboratory medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic disorders. For this, she was awarded the annual UCG (University of Montenegro) award at the suggestion of the Faculty of Medicine, presented by the UCG Rector, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, during a ceremonial Senate session.

Her name appeared last year among the scientists of the University of Montenegro listed in the prestigious Stanford list, which comprises 2% of the most influential and referenced scientists worldwide.

In the past year at the University of Montenegro, Dr. Klisić was appointed as an associate professor in the field of Functional Group of Basic Medical Subjects and the Group of Subjects Introduction to Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, UCG.

Her scientific research focuses on the role of new and traditional biomarkers in cardiometabolic disorders and their application for diagnostic purposes. These research findings, along with other studies in the fields of laboratory medicine, endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic disorders, have been published in renowned journals of the Thomson Reuters (SCI/SCIE) category. She has also presented research results through invited lectures and oral presentations at international and national congresses, symposiums, and conferences.

Dr. Klisić is the author of over 70 scientific research papers published in international journals indexed in SCI/SCIE/SSCI/A&HCI lists (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 categories). She has also made a significant contribution as a reviewer, reviewing around 800 scientific papers in journals of the SCI/SCIE category, and has served as an editorial board member for a top-tier international scientific journal in the Q1 category (PLOS One).

Her active participation in national and international projects has been highlighted, as she has led three international projects. Since 2021, she has been the head of the Center for Laboratory Diagnostics at the Health Center, Podgorica, Montenegro, and since 2018, she has led the team for the Accreditation of the Center for Laboratory Diagnostics at the Health Center, Podgorica, as the first accredited medical-biochemical laboratory in Montenegro according to the standard MEST EN ISO 15189:2016.

She obtained the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, in 2015, and the title of Specialist in Clinical Biochemistry in 2011. Subsequently, she acquired the title of Subspecialist in Laboratory Endocrinology in 2018, being the first student from her generation to do so. In 2018, by the decision of the Ministry of Health of Montenegro, she gained the title of Primarius.
