ProDATA

The ProDATA Project ((Support to Development of Physical Oceanography and Marine Database for the Coastal area  of Montenegro) was approved at the Competition to encourage participation in the Horizon 2020 and COST programs of the Ministry of Science of Montenegro based on the participation of the Institute of Marine Biology in the H2020 project SeaDataCloud (Further developing the pan-European infrastructure for marine and ocean data management).

The main objective of the project is to research the processes and changes in the sea, which depend on the movement of the basic oceanographic parameters, based on the continuous monitoring of these parameters in a longer period of time. Through the participation in the SeaDataCloud project, data integration will be ensured according to the standardized methodology in the international European and regional data and metadata exchange network, and therefore their cross-border valorization in the analysis and processing of the data of the marine environment.

By establishing an information oceanographic system with a database and a greater number of measuring stations that will continuously measure all parameters in real time or in the delayed mode in all meteorological conditions together with the field measurements will obtain the data which will be long term  stored in the database for storing metadata and data from the Institute of Biology and will be free available to users through the website of the Institute. The SeaDataCloud project has developed a distributive pan-European infrastructure for marine data management. By integrating the obtained data into the base of this project, users will be provided with on-line access to in-situ data, metadata and products of such data. In this way, data exchange and cross-border usability will be provided.

The period of realization of the project is two years with a total budget of 20,000.00 €.
